It has been a few days since I have been able to take the time to sit and write- a lot of outside acvtivities in security and rescue have kept me busy.
Recently we celebrated Shavuot- the wonder of the Nation of Israel- Am Yisrael receiving the Torah . Each week we study the relevant chapter and recall our history – the challenges, the difficulties, the miracles granted to the Jewish people by our L-rd.
Having been blessed to not only live, and to fight for our heritage but to also be out there in the field in the most important regions of our history is something that I never take for granted. The roads, the mountains, the hills and valleys of our ancient homeland are an integral part of our heritage and responsibility to protect them forever more.
It always amazes me how some of our own Nation refuse to accept the reality of the situation and continue to blame the continuous hatred directed against the Jewish people, on our presence in our Land. How pathetic that these people are, ignoring the real situation and continuing to place the onus of the blame of the “conflict” on Israel and especially our presence in the heartland – Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and the Jordan Valley.
How can they deliberately ignore the truth? How can they erase the constant terror directed against us even before the establishment of the State of Israel and certainly before the miracles of the outcomes of the 1948 War of Independence and the 1967 Six Day War?
The rhetoric and incitement against us and indeed the terror attacks which are perpetrated encouraged and carried out by the Arabs including and perhaps especially by the so-called partners in the Oslo and other agreements, the PA, are ignored, while the accusations are directed against us and especially the Jewish residents of Jerusalem, and Yesha.
When one rationally studies the situation both inside of Israel, and indeed throughout the world where fanatic terrorists are aiming their hatred against the entire world including other Arabs, training children to become suicide murderers in the name of what they deem, “the Holy Koran”, it should be totally clear what the true situation is. That no matter how little of our Land we live on – as proven in our history – the same hatred will continue to be directed against us.
No matter what archeological revelations are found in our Land, those who hate us, and wish to destroy us continue to refute the truth – that the Land of Israel belongs to the Jewish people and has for thousands of years.
We must have true leadership that will openly – with no apologies explain that this Land belongs to the Jewish people now and forever. That we have tried to placate our enemies by giving over Land, and in the end have seen the results- that the incitement continues along with the hatred and that no matter how much land and concessions are given it will never be enough since they wish to not only control the Land of Israel- they wish to destroy the Jewish people both in spirit and in body.
I wish to once again reiterate the message that we, combat soldiers of the Israeli Defense Forces received in the Bible that we were given along with our rifle- “Go with your strength and save Israel” (the Book of Judges )
It is dependent upon us to protect both the Torah, the Land and the Nation and we turn to the government of Israel to fulfill this responsibility.
