Michael Oren Former Israeli Ambassador to the US and author of the recent book Ally which explained Barack Obama’s planned separation between America and the Jewish State was part of a panel in a Town Hall in the municipality of Beersheba in Israel. After the Town Hall the municipality sent out a press release about the event misquoting Oren as saying US President Barack Obama was responsible for introducing “radical Muslim values” into the White House.”
After the press release was picked up by most major Israeli papers and some bloggers, Oren got ripped for the statement he never made. His twitter feed was filled with hate.
A few hours later Oren posted letters of apology from the Town Hall’s hosts on his Facebook written in Hebrew and translated below.
Following quote one posthumous miracle attributable to lie to me today, a spokesman for the city of Beersheba (he also editor of plan culture) has issued an apology is conclusive as unspoken comment:
“greetings. Culture System Beersheba giving clarification and an apology for the interview with d.p. Michael Oren, today Saturday 28.11.15.
During the interview, it was said in the message (summary of show) chess so Michael Oren, claimed that’s a first şʻrkym radical Muslims came to the white house. This statement does not ever uttered and we apologize for the wrong quote upstairs caused humid so Michael Oren.Amnon Joseph Having a plan culture beershebaIn the wake of the remarks falsely attributed to me today, Beersheba’s spokesman has issued a clear apology:“The spokesman of the Beersheba Municipality wants to clarify and apologize for falsely quoting MK Michael Oren, who spoke at a cultural event in the city today, saying that President Obama introduced radical Muslim values into the White House. MK Oren never said such a thing nor suggested one. We apologize for the false quote and for the distress caused to MK Oren. Signed, Amnon Yosef”
There’s one clear rule in reporting about the Middle East. Never believe the story when first reported. Wait for a second source. Michael Oren is no fan of Barack Obama, but the language attributed to him was not something he would say and not where he would say it.
Look at things logically, months ago he published a book that was all about how lousy Obama has treated Israel since he became president. If Oren was going to make a crazy statement like Obama brought radical Islam to the White House, he would have made it in the pages of his book where it would have helped the tome sell more copies, he wouldn’t have made it during a Saturday Town Hall in Beersheba
