It’s Ramadan fasting month once again. To correctly greet Muslim neighbors use the salutation,”Ramadan Kareem”
Israel makes sure to make any number of holiday gestures in keeping with the best ecumenical traditions.
These include free access to the Mosques on Temple mount for Muslims living in the PA, the removal of road blocks, even the prohibition of eating or drinking near the Temple mount in the spirit of the Ramadan sensitivities
For Muslims, Ramadan is supposed to be a month of introspection and repentance.
Historically the greatest Muslim victories over the Infidels have been on Ramadan.
The 1973 Yom Kippur war is considered a great victory by the Arab world and they call it the Ramadan war. Yes, they chose the days of fasting and repentance to attack the Infidel.
Warriors for Islam are exempt from fasting while engaging in Jihad so that takes care of the empty tummies while they seek Infidel targets.
It came as no surprise that with the beginning of Ramadan, Arab attacks upon Jews have shot up once again. The most exposed population, the Jews of the liberated territories, begged the government NOT to loosen the security measures during Ramadan. This gesture will only cost Jewish lives. We know now what happened, once again: The most beautiful holy young and old Jews have been cut down almost daily .
Today I was supposed to lead a tour to the Mount of Olives. On the morning of the tour I received a call from the organizers. They asked the Jerusalem police if it was safe to visit the Mount of Olives. They immediately said no. It is dangerous to go to many parts of eastern Jerusalem during Ramadan. The police as always made sure to cover their …. That is a whole MONTH, not a day . Imagine; the police will not secure Jews in large parts of the capital from the zeal of the introspective Ramadan pious for a month!.
I wonder, how do Muslims express their repentance and introspection when there are no Jews to attack? I guess they must settle for beheading Christians and Yazidis; and when they run out of them, well it fellow Muslims have to do.
So we celebrate yet another Ramadan in Jerusalem. Lots of festive fireworks, five times a day and night blasting loud speakers and of course… Jewish funerals.
What do we not do to insure a happy holiday?
Ramadan Kareem!
