As I begin this blog, here on The Jewish Press, I hope to share with you the dreams and fears of a typical Israeli mother – that’s what I have always wanted to be and that’s what I am. Tonight, I close my eyes and will sleep deep and with the normal fears of a normal mother. I have no sons on the borders of Israel, none at a checkpoint or deep in the desert. I have two sons who are technically soldiers and neither likely to be called in the coming days.

May the God of Israel watch over our soldiers, all our soldiers, this day, this night and every one that comes.
