Modern Hebrew thus employs the root י.צ.א (y.ts.a) meaning exiting to produce the word for result: תּוֹצָאָה .

For example:

קִיר צִבְעוֹנִי הוּא תּוֹצָאָה שֶׁל צְבִיעָה.
A colorful wall is a result of painting.

and

.הֵם מַמְתִּינִים בְּמֶתַח לְתוֹצְאוֹת הַבְּדִיקָה
They are waiting anxiously for the results of the (medical) test.

Truth is, the word תוצאה first appears in Biblical Hebrew:

(מִכָּל-מִשְׁמָר, נְצֹר לִבֶּךָ, כִּי-מִמֶּנּוּ, תּוֹצְאוֹת חַיִּים. (מִשְׁלֵי ד’:כ”ג
Above all that which you guard, watch your heart; for from it life springs forth. (Proverbs 4:23)
