On his way to Marine One on Friday, President Donald Trump told reporters what he thought about the Democrats’ refusal to censure Rep Ilhan Omar’s Antisemitism.
“I thought yesterday’s vote by the House was disgraceful because it’s become–the Democrats have become an anti-Israel party. They’ve become an anti-Jewish party and I thought that vote was a disgrace and so does everybody else if you get an honest answer. If you get an honest answer from politicians, they thought it was a disgrace. The Democrats have become an anti-Israel party. They’ve become an anti-Jewish party and that’s too bad.”
The President is 100% correct. The far left has pushed the Democratic Party toward being anti-Jewish since the early 1970s aided by:
- The Civil Rights Act which was a good thing, but it switched the perception of the Democratic Party from the racist party to the anti-Racist party leading the liberal elements to become more active in party politics.
- The 6-day-war which switched the perception of Israel from the oppressed to the oppressor, especially among the African American leaders whose politics skewed toward the radical left.
- As the party moved leftward, many of the Palestinian terrorists were socialists including the Popular Front For The Liberation of Palestine which executed some of the bloodiest attacks.
- The Murder of MLK Jr who saw the Jews as an ally, as they were the ethnic group outside the Black community that fought hardest for civil rights. The perception of the media was that the leadership of the Civil Rights movement was inherited by people like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton who saw the Jews as their competition for achieving middle-class status.
The party’s anti-Jewish positions drifted onto the internet via Democratic/Liberal websites, The Huffington Post and The Daily Kos.
Much of the Democratic party Antisemitism in recent years comes in the form of anti-Israel statements and positions that cross the line into Jew-hatred. For example, there’s the support of the Boycott, Divest and Sanctions (BDS) movement. The BDS movement grew out of the 2001 UN World Conference Against Racism, held in Durban, South Africa. It was an anti-Jewish hate fest. Copies of the anti-Semitic work The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, were sold on conference grounds; anti-Israel protesters jeered participants chanting “Zionism is racism, Israel is apartheid,” and “You have Palestinian blood on your hands”; fliers depicting Hitler with the question, “What if I had won?” circulated among conference attendees. The answer: “There would be NO Israel and NO Palestinian bloodshed.” The leader of that conference Mary Robinson was awarded a presidential medal of freedom from former president Barack Obama.
The Durban conference was so anti-Semitic that U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell walked out and ordered the entire American delegation to leave.
BDS which grew from that anti-Semitic conference is anti-Semitic because it bases its attacks on fabricated tales of human rights violations, double standards, comparisons to apartheid South Africa, and false accusations of “war crimes.” This movement has just one purpose, to delegitimize Israel and to deny the Jewish people their right to self-determination. The founders and leaders of the BDS movement support a “one-state solution” that destroys Israel as the Jewish state. Both the U.S. State Department and Pope Francis have declared that denying that the Jews have the right to have their own homeland, is a form of Antisemitism.
Democratic Party Antisemitism goes beyond BDS and three new members of the House Democratic Coalition:
Louis Farrakhan was justifiably criticized for calling Jews termites, but before Farrakhan, Hank Johnson (D-GA) used that phrase. At an event at the 2016 Democratic Convention Johnson, who once worried that too many people on the Island of Guam might tip it over, called Jewish people who live in disputed territories to “termites” that destroy homes. Johnson said it during an event sponsored by the U.S. Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation, an anti-Israel organization that galvanizes supporters of the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement, or BDS. After his comment caused an uproar, Johnson gave a half-hearted apology. He was sorry about offending but wasn’t sorry for saying it or even or recognized that it was anti-Semitic.
Maxine Waters is another believer in the AIPAC anti-Semitic canard: Earlier this year a video was released of Waters embracing Louis Farrakhan. Asked multiple times whether she still supports the anti-Semitic Nation of Islam leader, Waters refuses to answer. At a 2012 luncheon, Waters announced her belief in one of the anti-Semitic canards, she said she won’t take money from AIPAC because as she suggests it has too much power over congress. See the video below:
Senator Patty Murray is not an anti-Semite. She just doesn’t care about antisemitism In January 2018 a Senate committee was evaluating the nomination of Ken Marcus for the position assistant secretary for civil rights at the Department of Education. Mr. Marcus was subjected to an aggressive slander campaign by leading anti-Israel groups seeking to kill his nomination because he has worked to combat the anti-Semitic boycott, divestment, and sanctions (BDS) movement on college campuses and is the founder of the Louis D. Brandeis Center for Human Rights Under Law, a group that among other things fights Antisemitism. When meeting with Marcus supporters, a senior policy adviser to Democratic Senator Patty Murray said her office in the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) does “not care about anti-Semitism,” according to two people who attended the meeting. After those comments became public, Patty Murray did not comment on her policy advisers statement. In other words, she did not care about her staffer’s “not caring.”
In 2011 the DCCC published a petition looking for 100,000 signatures in support of Occupy Wall Street which had already been proven to be Antisemitic. President Obama and other Democrats also supported OWS.
In 2011 House Majority Whip, James Clyburn appeared in an event with Jew-hater Louis Farrakhan. Rabbi Abraham Cooper, of the Simon Wiesenthal Center in California, wrote in a Pittsburgh Post-Gazette op-ed.
Saying Americans should separate the positive message (black empowerment) from the bad (anti-Semitism) just doesn’t cut it anymore. Rev. Farrakhan does not deserve the respectability of having Rep. James Clyburn of South Carolina sit alongside him. We hope Mr. Clyburn follows the lead of Melanie Campbell and withdraws from the Pittsburgh event.
Clyburn told Farrakhan’s hate-magazine “Final Call” that he was “not bothered in the least bit” by those criticizing him for appearing at the event with the Jew-hating Farrakhan.
Danny Davis (Ill-7) received 88% of the total vote in his district despite that he too is a friend of the anti-Semitic Farrakhan. “The Daily Caller” reported that “Davis went on the record twice to defend and praise Farrakhan.” He called Farrakhan an “outstanding human being,” and says he regularly visits Farrakhan including at home. Davis has also said he wasn’t bothered by Farrakhan’s answer to “the Jewish question.” In other words, his Antisemitism.
Many of the Democrats in power who are either supporters of the anti-Semitic Louis Farrakhan including 21 members of the Congressional Black Caucus), or fans of the anti-Semitic Linda Sarsour who have shared platforms with her including Jerrold Nadler, Nydia Velasquez, Brad Sherman, Mike Quigley, Al Green, Robin Kelly, Jamie Raskin, Donald McEachin, and New York Governor Andrew Cuomo who for some reason announced his belief that Jews can’t dance.
One new member of Congress whose hatred is ignored is representative in NY-19th district is Antonio Delgado. Delgado was supported by anti-Israel group J-Street and made a statement during a debate that Israel was not a democracy,
“I said it is not a Jewish democracy. Meaning that given the fact that we have settlements currently in the region, it is not deemed a nation of Jewish democracy until we deal with the settlements. Until we deal with the settlements we will have that issue,”
Notice that Delgado was emphasizing those darn anti-democratic joos? And the basics of what he was saying was a lie. In Israel, all citizens of Israel have the right to vote no matter what their background. He forgot to mention that as soon as Israel pulled out of Gaza it became a terrorist base or the fact that at least twice Israel offered to give the Palestinians in Judea and Samaria about 98% of what they wanted (once during the Clinton presidency and the other during Bush #43) and both times their offer was refused.
Democrats such as NY’s Kirstin Gillibrand protected anti-Semites in the Women’s March such as Linda Sarsour and Tamika Mallory. Despite that people finally realized what this site has been warning for two years and that the Wiesenthal Center begged her to withdraw her support for the two anti-Semites, Gillibrand has not removed her support and has continued to speak at the Women’s Marches.
Al Sharpton is a card-carrying anti-Semite who led two anti-Semitic pogroms in NYC. He was a regular visitor at the Obama White House, and Democrats fawned over Sharpton his 60th birthday gala in 2014. It was attended by Democrats like Chuck Schumer, Kirsten Gillibrand, and Jerold Nadler. More recently my friend Jazz Shaw reported at Hot Air that Al Sharpton has met “with a flurry of possible 2020 contenders including Sens. Kamala Harris (D-CA.), Cory Booker (D.-N.J.), and Kirsten Gillibrand (D., N.Y.). The visits to kiss the Sharpton ring of hatred does not mean those candidates are anti-Semitic, it just means they condone Antisemitism.
A year ago, D.C. Council member Trayon White Sr. (D-Ward 8) posted a video on Facebook claiming the Rothschilds (meaning the Jews) controlled the weather, then upon receiving push-back, he changed his mind and apologized. But before he could be forgiven, he did it again. At a city council meeting, White claimed, “There’s this whole concept with the Rothschilds—control the World Bank, as we all know—infusing dollars into major cities. They really pretty much control the federal government, and now they have this concept called resilient cities in which they are using their money and influence into local cities.”
There are many Democrats in power who are either supporters of the anti-Semitic Louis Farrakhan (21 members of the Congressional Black Caucus) and fans of the anti-Semitic Linda Sarsour. Those who have shared platforms with Sarsour include Jerrold Nadler, Nydia Velasquez, Brad Sherman, Mike Quigley, Al Green, to name just a few.
Two Democratic Party leaders with hatred toward both Jews and the Jewish State recently office. Barack Obama, the former President of the United States, is an anti-Semite, as well of the old number two guy in the Democratic Party Keith Ellison who is now the Attorney General of Minnesota (Rep. Omar’s home state)
The President said Omar should resign or at least be removed from the foreign affairs committee and Mark Lander tweeted. Instead of trying to understand the reasons why President Trump felt Rep. Omar’s February apology about the “Benjamins” wasn’t a valid apology (a position which I agree) liberals like Mark Lander were falsely trying to label Trump as being just as bad as Rep Omar–Nonsense! In psychology, I believe it’s called transference.
Soros, globalists, Jewish money — Trump is a practiced trafficker in the same kinds of anti-Semitic stereotypes he demanded that Ilhan Omar resign over. https://t.co/mceaJKeYg7
— Mark Landler (@MarkLandler)
Some people point to some statements/actions by this president as being anti-Jewish, such as the Trump administration statement on the first Holocaust Remembrance Day since his inauguration which didn’t mention Jews, on or his comment about Charlottesville that there were good and bad people on both sides. While there were bad people on both sides (the left-wing domestic terror group Antifa was there) there weren’t good people on both sides. As I said at the time “NO ONE, not one person who decided to march alongside people who were carrying the swastika and Hitler’s Nazi flag could EVER be considered good.” However reasonable people look at those and other examples and while believing they were insensitive and wrong, realize that they don’t come close to showing that President Trump who has Jewish grandchildren and has supported Jewish causes long before he became President, has the slightest feelings of Jew-hatred
Other examples raised during the past few days as examples of Trump hypocrisy such as his criticism of George Soros, or his comment about money to 2015 RJC donors meeting above, are not only inaccurate in my opinion, but in most cases designed to deflect from the real issue of Democratic Party Antisemitism, neither example has anything to do with Antisemitism.
Per the most recent charges, let’s start with Soros. Now I will grant you that a senior member of the anti-Semitic Media Matters once called this reporter a Jew-Basher (on a Saturday when I am not online because of the Jewish Sabbath), any regular readers know I actively fight Antisemitism. I mention this because anyone who actually investigated the progressive sugar daddy would know Criticizing Soros Is NOT Anti-Semitic, Soros Is A Bad Dude. In fact, Soros has supported anti-Israel and anti-Semitic causes via his various progressive foundations.
As for the “money” comment. Trump didn’t say wouldn’t take Jewish money. At a December 2015 Republican Jewish Coalition meeting of wealthy donors, Trump teased the potential donors, saying “You’re not going to support me because I don’t want your money. If I wanted your money, I think I’d have a damned good chance. You know the money I have turned down?” And if you watch the video below you will realize he wasn’t teasing them because they were Jewish he was teasing them because they were wealthy donors (they laughed), and at the end of this short clip, he includes himself in the group.
short clip, he includes himself in the group.
It is also true that there are GOP Jew-haters like Ron Paul and Pat Buchanan who have been outed on these pages, but they are few and far between and generally rejected by the party bigs. GOP antisemitism It is not nearly as systemic nor accepted by the party as it is in the Democratic Party.
What’s really ironic that the same liberals and media who falsely claim President Trump uses anti-Semitic dog-whistles were silent when President Obama really used anti-Semitic trigger words.
For example, President Obama’s July 31, 2015 phone call organized by the Anti-Israel group J Street and other progressive Jewish groups could be summed up in one sentence. Please help because those rich people are helping those warmongering Jews to fight this incredible Iran deal because they don’t like me and they want to start a war just like they did in Iraq.
Talking to a group of hand-picked list of Jewish leaders, Lee Rosenberg of AIPAC questioned Obama’s statement comparing people who objected to the Iran deal with those who supported the invasion of Iraq because many anti-Semites claim the Jews pushed Bush into invading Iraq. Obama explained that Netanyahu supported the Iraq invasion, which is correct, but Bibi wasn’t the Prime Minister at the time. The leader of the Israeli government at the time was Ariel Sharon who strongly urged Bush not to invade because Sadaam was the only check on Iran. He correctly warned that if Saddam Hussein were deposed, a more dangerous Iran would soon become America’s biggest threat in the region. Obama also forgot to mention that his vice president Joe Biden, both of his secretaries of state Kerry and Clinton, and his biggest ally in the Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid all supported the invasion of Iraq in Congress and now support his flawed Iraq deal.
In the 20-minute phone call Obama said over and over, those opponents of the Iran deal come from the same “array of forces that got us into the Iraq war,” he said a “bunch of billionaires who happily finance super PACs” are “putting the squeeze on members of Congress.”
The message was clear to the Jewish participants, William Daroff Senior Vice President for Public Policy & Director of the Washington office of The Jewish Federations of North America tweeted during the meeting “Jews are leading effort to kill #Irandeal. ‘Same people opposing the deal led us into Iraq war,’” and followed with “Canard: Jews got us into Iraq War.”
not sure the White House referring to Jews as a group when talking about Iraq war
— Nathan Guttman (@nathanguttman)
Canard: Jews got us into Iraq War.
— William Daroff (@Daroff)
It is true that Israel opposed the Iran deal, but what the President never mentioned so did Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, UAE, Bangladesh and most of the other Sunni Muslim States. They vehemently opposed the deal because of their fears that Shia Iran would use nukes to attack them. But Obama wanted to scapegoat the Jews, and the media was quiet. (Note; for much more about Barack Obama’s Antisemitism click here)
The MSM has been covering up the Democratic Party’s rampant Antisemitism, in some cases, they are ignoring it entirely. Not all Democrats are Jew-haters, but there are too many anti-Semites in the party, and last week’s refusal to pass a resolution against Jew-hatred offers proof that the party leaders have accepted the hatred.
In some cases they coverup the Antisemitism by calling it anti-Israel. Just as they did when I broke the Helen Thomas videotape story, they are attributing Jew-hatred to being anti-Israel, or defending the Palestinian cause. Thomas commented that the Jews should get out of Israel and go back to Germany and Poland. Combined those two countries are where more than half the Jews in the Holocaust were murdered. But the media is still calling her comment’s anti-Israel, and that’s despite the fact five months later she made a speech in Dearborn, Mi where her hatred was more obvious
“We are owned by propagandists against the Arabs. There’s no question about that. Congress, the White House, and Hollywood, Wall Street, are owned by the Zionists. No question in my opinion.
If you believe the mainstream media, President Trump and his supporters are bigots, and it is impossible for a Democrat to be a bigot. Perhaps it’s time for the media to stop monkeying around and report fairly. The president is not a bigot and he is 100% correct when he says the Democratic Party has become the anti-Jewish. Party
Antisemitism is a growing problem throughout the world and even here in America. But until the media identifies and exposes the significant contributors to the contempt the Democratic party has for the Jewish people, despite where their personal politics lie, it will continue to metastasize and threaten all of the American freedoms.
First, they came for the Jews…..
