Obama’s Tricks of the Trade:

  1. Speak their language.
  2. Flatter them.
  3. Develop a theme.
  4. Bait them with their own distorted principles.

Jewish American Heritage Month was an opportune time for Obama to patch things up with his Jewish supporters, many of whom were surely disconcerted by his recent overtures with Iran. After placing his speech in an historical context, and joking about being an “honorary member of the tribe”, the flattery began. Obama extolled the contributions of prominent American Jews:

………“From Einstein to Brandeis, from Jonas Salk to Betty Friedan, American Jews have made contributions to this country that have shaped it in every aspect. And as a community, American Jews have helped make our union more perfect. The story of Exodus inspired oppressed people around the world in their own struggles for civil rights. From the founding members of the NAACP to a freedom summer in Mississippi, from women’s rights to gay rights to workers’ rights, Jews took the heart of Biblical edict that we must not oppress a stranger, having been strangers once ourselves.”

Having defined the contributions of Jews in terms of science, medicine, in social, human, and civil rights, Obama was in a position to argue that, contrary to opposing Jewish interests as his detractors would have it, he was actually fighting for the highest interests of Judaism and Israel. His clever foray into the biblical reference “not to oppress the stranger” was a subtle form of mirroring, and a tactical jab at the liberal Jew who surely had to ask himself, “Perhaps he’s correct. Maybe we are oppressing the stranger?”

I’m Saving Judaism!

Having defined Judaism’s moral mandate, Obama continued:

“And it is precisely because I care so deeply about the state of Israel — it’s precisely because, yes, I have high expectations for Israel the same way I have high expectations for the United States of America — that I feel a responsibility to speak out honestly about what I think will lead to long-term security and to the preservation of a true democracy in the Jewish homeland. And I believe that’s two states for two peoples, Israel and Palestine, living side by side in peace and security. Just as Israelis built a state in their homeland, Palestinians have a right to be a free people on their land, as well…..”

Note Obama’s patronizing gall. He decided for the people of Israel what their security interests are; namely, that amputating her tiny territory to appease Arab murderers (who have no authentic claim to the land!) is in her best interest. That Israel should ignore Fatah’s open calls for continuous war and chalk it up to mere rhetoric. That they don’t really mean it when they speak of a “phased plan of destruction”. That the pursuit of peace requires Israel to accept daily stonings, shootings, stabbings, lynchings, missiles, rockets, and shells. As Obama sees it, Israel should ignore Abbas and Fatah when they celebrate the murderous acts of Islamic Nazis. They should ignore those huge red signs in the liberated regions which advise Jews to refrain from entering PA occupied land, lest they risk losing their Jewish lives. Above all, ignore history and accept the mythos of a Palestinian people, who never existed when they lived under Jordan and Egypt.

To compound his chutzpah, Obama proceeded to connect the fight against anti-Semitism with “Palestinian rights” within the framework of what he called the “Judeo-Christian tradition.” Without belaboring the point, there is no such thing as a Judeo-Christian tradition. That’s what liberal Jew wants to hear (albeit by interpreting the term through a liberal ideology of the two faiths, i.e. the tenets of liberation theology, social justice, etc.). Judaism is distinct and different from the latter faith. More importantly, Barak Obama knows nothing of Jewish values. He is the anti-Torah personality. As far from Sinai as the Arctic. The real aim of his barb is to accuse Israel, which tragically follows the appeasing pacifistic tenets of self-restraint, of being unjust towards the Arabs who want to murder us. The only cruelty being applied is towards Jews whose lives are sacrificed and spilled to placate the world.
