Black Hebrews. The name is only partially correct. They are black, and that is no less fine or irrelevant as being white. (I couldn’t give a hoot about skin color). They have learned Hebrew, but they are hardly Hebrew. In the real world, there are no such people. Naturally, any group can choose to call themselves whatever they want. Many lunatics in history have created cults and set themselves as prophets after a drug trip convinced them that an angel spoke to them. The sin is that Israel accepts the fiction of hostile non-existent people.
A classic synopsis of this cult’s origin’s can be found in the following transcript of a radio interview from the 1980’s, when Rabbi Meir Kahane (may G-d avenge his blood) was addressing the “Black-Jewish” issue in America. In response to a hostile caller who alleged that Israel was mistreating the Black-Hebrews, Rabbi Kahane responded:
“My dear fellow…my dear sir, the Black Hebrews of Israel are not Jewish. There are black Jews who are of course Jewish. The Black Hebrews are a bunch of thugs from Chicago who originally went to Liberia and were thrown out of the country by Liberians. They came to Israel and unfortunately…unfortunately, the government of Israel, out of fear of what would be a reaction in the world and in The Amsterdam News, doesn’t have the courage to toss these people out, even though they constantly hold a press conference attacking Israel. These are not Jews. These are people, these are blacks, who call themselves Black-Hebrews, and say that they are the real seed of Abraham and that they will take over Israel. If I were the Prime Minister, I would toss them out. A Jew is a Jew, whether he is black, white, or anything else. These are not Jews.”
Black Hebrew Movements
As an aside, it should be noted that there are many Black-Hebrew movements in America who share aspects of this general ideological system. While this is not a history lesson, such movements have their origins in the 19th century, although the tenets of their beliefs during these early movements varied. From a contemporary viewpoint, the Black-Israelites of today in America are a genuine menace. Many readers have certainly seen them hawking their incense and race hatred outside subway stations in America. Some are are violent and aggressive, and while the connection to the Black-Hebrews in Israel is hard to pinpoint, they share aspects of their teachings. The American versions are truly dangerous, and there is a definite link between such movements and the resurrected violent “New Black Panther” gangs that have risen in the last decade. Both groups are apt to resort to violence, to the point that even many do-nothing liberal anti-racist organizations in America have placed them on their watch-lists.
I sometimes hear Jewish liberals who have met Black-Hebrews in Israel asserting that, “many of them are nice.” If you do research, read their literature, and immerse yourself in their authentic ideology, you cannot avoid the aggression and hostility towards Jews and white people. They hate Jews and the hard core believers will say as much to you. People who usurp another people’s identify usually have contempt for them. They maintain that we are false Jews. The true ideologues, and many of them are older today, retain the anger and rage towards “white devil Jews” that they propagated in their youth. A major problem for movement today is that many of the youth are disaffected with the rigid discipline, and so they abandon the doctrines and mimic the same social patterns and actions that unfortunately plague much of the black community in America.
