Likud MK Moshe Feiglin, echoing and summing up statements by other public officials, told Aharonovitz and the Committee, “Mr. Minister, you have failed! When the Temple Mount is conquered by [Arab] hooligans for a week during Pesach, this is your failure! If terrorist organizations would take over downtown Washington, and the official in charge would act weakly and give them free rein in a given area, he would not remain in his job.”

“Has anyone tried recently to visit the grave of Menachem Begin on the Mt. of Olives?” Feiglin rhetorically asked, referring to frequent Arab assaults there.

He added that Aharonovitz has placed undue emphasis on Price Tag graffiti incidents apparently perpetrated by Judea and Samaria “hilltop youths,” saying, “It’s a good thing you have Price Tag – for which the police have plenty of troops or else you would have to deal with the country’s real crime problems. You have failed terribly and you must resign.”

Jerusalem holds an unparalleled position in Jewish history and contemporary national life. Whatever happens in our holy eternal city has far-reaching ramifications on Jews all over Israel and the world. Everything must be done to ensure that Arab attacks on Jews are nipped sharply in the bud, and that Jewish construction proceeds without hindrance. If not, partition and another barbed-wire fence through the heart of Yerushalayim cannot be far off.

In addition to visiting the Eternal City of Jerusalem, there are many ways to learn about it and become a strong advocate for keeping Jerusalem united under Israeli sovereignty.
