We note with deep sadness the passing of Brooklyn District Attorney Kenneth Thompson at the age of 50. We had hoped for his recovery after learning of his cancer diagnosis. Unfortunately this was not to be.
Mr. Thompson was in the midst of reforming the district attorney’s office and on his watch there had been much progress in reversing the convictions of those his office had determined were wrongly convicted. At the same time he had initiated programs to seriously deal with gun crimes and gang violence.
Our condolences to his wife, Lu-Shawn, children Kenny and Kennedy, and the entire family.
May he rest in peace.
