Somewhat easier to take is The Washington Post:
The challenge for France’s leaders, and its European Union neighbors, will now be complex. They must promote greater security, defend free speech and fight anti-Semitism. But they must also head off a backlash against a disadvantaged and alienated minority Muslim population that already is the target of populist demagogues.
Contrary to those who portray concerns over unfettered Muslim immigration as constituting more of a threat to Western civilization than the savagery of Islamic terrorism, the primary challenge facing responsible members of the international community is that of containing and beating back the scourge of Islamist fundamentalism with a collateral concern for any impact on Muslims generally. Not the other way around.
