The time has come to bring a taste of this joy to world Jewry.
Our partnership with Koren Publishers Jerusalem is making history. Together, we have produced the first bilingual machzor for Yom Ha’Atzmaut and Yom Yerushalayim, which will enable Jews around the world to express their appreciation for Israel both intellectually and spiritually.
The traditional machzor with tefillot according to the Chief Rabbinate of Israel also includes essays by major rabbinic and educational leaders from across the religious Zionist world. Whether used at a special tefillah service for these holidays or as an educational resource, the World Mizrachi Edition of the Koren Mahzor for Yom Ha’Atzmaut and Yom Yerushalayim enhances the spiritual and religious significance of Israel’s national holidays for Jews throughout the world.
Since Mizrachi was founded in 1902, it has been committed to being a full and proactive partner in the Zionist enterprise and a constant reminder of its spiritual nature and destiny. Made up of two words, merkaz ruchani, Mizrachi means a “spiritual center.” Jerusalem has always been the nexus of the Jewish people, and now we extend our hands to worldwide Jewry to join us in saying thanks to Hashem for our land and state – for its beauty, its might, its strengths, for the opportunity of spiritual growth and Torah learning and for the privilege of living with dignity that it has afforded us, for the miracles of biblical proportions we have experienced during the establishment of Israel and its sustained existence.
And in this spirit of gratitude, we owe special thanks to the donors who enabled the publication of this historic work.
Whether one says Hallel with or without a berachah (or even not at all) I feel it is important to deepen our appreciation of these remarkable days and help bring David HaMelech’s words to life: sing with joy and thanks that we have a vibrant state of Israel.
