Minister Shaked addressed numerous controversial topics, such as gay marriage, Arab-Israeli involvement in the Israeli economy, administrative detention and Har Habayit. In addressing civil marriage, Minister Shaked maintained that while she supported full benefits for common law relationships, she still believed that marriage should be in the hands of the rabbanut. “It’s a bit like a marriage, both sides need to give and take in compromise,” she explained, saying that both sides would have to find a way to live together.
An apt description of life in Israel.
