I think the lesson here is apparent but needs to be reiterated: Parents, never leave your baby or young child in a car unattended. I read an article that suggested parents place an item they would never forget – shoe, purse, coat – in the back seat next to their baby.

Please, let’s all do what we can to prevent any more such incidents from occurring.
