Justification For Murder
The title of Andrew Pessin’s Feb. 5 op-ed column – “When Fair-Mindedness Becomes Justification for Murder” – was right on target.
My question: Does the UN really believe there is any justification for murdering a pregnant woman or the mother of six children the terrorist has never even met before? Is there any justification for 9/11, or the bombings at the Boston Marathon, or Charlie Hebdo, or the November 2015 Paris massacre (the list of atrocities goes on and on)?
The UN secretary general says those murders were wrong, but… There is no acceptable “but.” In the final analysis, there can be no justification for murder by terrorists. It can never be tolerated in any form.
As for the UN, it has failed to serve its raison d’étre; instead, it spends its billions to add to the world’s problems. Why do we continue to support its very existence and provide money for its continuance?

Disappointed With Trump
The organization I founded, Rabbi for Trump (originally Rabbis for Trump), will be closing down. It seems to me that representatives of his campaign don’t care about the Jewish vote. They think they can win without it.
After Trump made statements at the Republican Jewish Coalition that seemed to question whether Israel had the right to claim Jerusalem as its capital and that implied he might, as president, impose his own solution on Israelis and Palestinians, I pleaded for the Trump people to release a platform on Israel and for Trump to come out with complete support for Israel. This has not happened and I doubt it will.
I tell Jews now to vote for whomever they wish. If the Cruz or Rubio people want my support, I will be happy to talk to them. To those supporting Trump, it hurts me greatly to do this but I cannot get answers. I do not dislike Trump but cannot fight for him if I do not believe he fully supports Israel and the Jewish people.
