Conservatives claim they want to conserve and keep the country the way the framers of the Constitution intended it back in the 18th century. But here we see conservatives who want to make up their own laws if they don’t like the way things are going.

What Obama Ignores
Re “The President Visits a Mosque” (editorial, Feb. 19):
The fact that for his first presidential visit to a U.S. mosque President Obama chose one that has been linked to extremist elements reveals his disdain for the valid security concerns of Americans.
In trivializing the imperative to “monitor” Islamic houses of worship as part of an overall anti-terror policy, the president deliberately elides the inescapable evidence that 9/11 and San Bernardino did not happen in a vacuum and that Islamic terrorism remains a genuine threat to the U.S. and the civilized world.
