I also decided to join the Daily Bruin staff as a token conservative opinion columnist. My twice-monthly column quickly became one of the most popular features in the newspaper. The Daily Bruin fired me a year and a half later for revealing their censorship practices on behalf of the Muslim community, but not before Creators Syndicate had signed me to write a nationally syndicated column. 

After signing with Creators, I realized that I could put my hundreds of pages of notes to use: the outcome was Brainwashed: How Universities Indoctrinate America’s Youth. The book describes hundreds of instances of higher education bias across the country, mentioning over 400 professors and 200 universities — UCLA is only the tip of the iceberg.

There are others like me in the university system. Conservatives are coming together on campus. We’re not the majority, but at least we’re making it possible for both sides to be heard.

If only the universities had the same goal.
