We have to understand that Shabbos represents a microcosm of Eternity, in which our entire existence will be a restful Shabbos following a lifetime of effort and achievement.
Outside of the Torah itself, Shabbos is the greatest gift our Creator has bestowed upon us. It should be something we look forward to and treasure, rather than view as a speed bump along our informational, social or professional highway.
If we are able to internalize the message of Shabbos and communicate it, both verbally and experientially, to our children, we will hopefully make meaningful strides toward ensuring that each and every one of us is keeping “full Shabbos” – in the most complete sense of the term.
