Muslims, on the other hand, are all too often given a pass. They’re given a pass because the multicultural left can’t hold Muslims to the same standard everyone expects of the U.S. and Israel. Meanwhile, open immigration policies fuel tensions in Europe. The multicultural curse of low expectations and double standards for certain groups has allowed senseless immigration policies to persist. At the same time, Muslims do indeed get a pass for their violence, in the sense that terrorism and even anti-Semitism are frequently viewed as an understandable result of or reaction to U.S. or Israeli policy.
Part of the problem is that history today is written by the losers, when the losers can loosely be described as “minorities.” Hence, Israel is supposed to feel guilty about the Palestinians, even though Arabs from the region have always outnumbered the Israelis and several times tried to wipe Israel off the map. There are 56 Islamic states, yet Israel is treated as if it is the only possible location where Palestinian refugees should live.
The end result is that the Western nations, once citadels of free thought and the rule of law, are too timid to change their policy to suit their own national interests, or even to ask basic questions about the immigrants who seek admission. America is in the same position as Europe on this point. In contrast, Benjamin Netanyahu explains Israel’s rejection of African asylum seekers, saying, “We don’t have to open our doors to be swamped by the way other people run their economies.”
