After decades of being politically inactive, I have decided together with dozens of friends to work unceasingly over the next few days to ensure an overwhelming victory for Otzma Yehudit on September 17.
The fact is that Benjamin Netanyahu cannot form a government without Otzma Yehudit. Anyone who supports a right-wing government, therefore, has no choice but to vote for it. It’s simple math. Without Otzma Yehudit, the right-wing camp comprises 54-57 seats according to the latest polls. Only Otzma Yehudit makes up the missing seats necessary for the right-wing bloc to form a coalition.
Naftali Bennett and Yamina claim Otzma Yehudit doesn’t stand a chance to pass the minimum threshold. But the most recent polls show that it will. Why is Bennett lying? Why is Yamina investing a fortune to shoot the right-wing camp in the foot? If I were Bennett, I would keep my mouth shut considering how he undermined the right-wing camp in the last elections.
In the Knesset, Itamar Ben-Gvir – who heads Otzma Yehudit – will serve as a gadfly, pulling Likud and Yamina further to the right so that their policies better represent the nation. The majority of the Jewish electorate in Israel is right-wing. It wants right-wing policies. It votes for right-wing policies. But in the end, it always receive two left feet.
I’m sorry. The leaders of Yamina and Likud had their chance to smash the enemy. They failed. Now it’s Ben-Gvir’s turn to give it a shot. Israel needs a party that will stand to the right of the so-called right!
I and many like me who have not participated in Israel’s political circus for many years are coming out in force for Ben-Gvir because we finally have someone to vote for. A political revolution is in the making.
And a historic window of opportunity has been opened. Bibi actually needs Ben-Gvir to save himself from incarceration. If the left were more amenable, Bibi would gladly form a national unity government with it as it would enable him to more comfortably accept the peace proposal that President Trump has promised to shortly introduce.
However, it seems that G-d has a different plan. G-d has hardened the hearts of the Blue and White leaders who continue to say, “Anyone but Bibi.” Thus, the only way for Bibi to escape his legal troubles is by forming a right-wing government with Otzma Yehudit led by Ben-Gvir, who says he will support immunity for Bibi even if the latter indicted.
Everything is from heaven. It is no coincidence that Bibi openly legitimized Ben-Gvir and led the battle last election for Otzma to unite with the mainstream right. It is also no coincidence that Moshe Feiglin’s Zehut party dropped out of the race, leading many of his supporters to join Otzma. It is also not a coincidence that Baruch Marzel and Michael Ben-Ari were banned, leaving a much more popular and charismatic Ben-Gvir to head the party.
Otzma Yehudit is also receiving a huge boost from its #2, Dr. Adva Biton, a highly-educated and respected woman and a known activist for social reform whose baby daughter was murdered in a terrorist attack. Her presence on the ballot is also no coincidence.
Nor is it a coincidence that Yigal Bibi, one of the most well-known National Religious politicians (he served in the Knesset for many years with Mafdal), has become one of the most fervent Ben-Gvir supporters.
Nor is it a coincidence that some of the most prominent Religious Zionist rabbis, such as Rabbi Dov Lior, have openly endorsed Ben-Gvir. Nor is it a coincidence that the Noam party has emerged from nowhere to run a smooth and effective digital campaign showing the nakedness of Yamina, depicting it as being neither right nor particularly Jewish.
Nor is it a coincidence that the Supreme Court has again succeeded in angering the majority of Jews in Israel by banning Marzel, Gopstein, and Ben-Ari from running for Knesset while giving the green light to Arab terrorist sympathizers.
Hashem is orchestrating matters from above. Otzma Yehudit may well save Israel.
