Joy is the Answer Segment #1

Purim is here and this week’s show kicks off with Yishai, joined by his wife and co-host Malkah, talking about the holiday and how it is being celebrated, including the production of a recent video with features Malkah baking hamantashen.  Other topics in this segment include discussing a recent video created to raise awareness about the release of Jonathan Pollard, human rights atrocities in Syria and how individual Israelis should be involved and similarities between Haman and Amalek.  The segment continues with Eve Harrow and Yishai looking at alternate perspectives to life events and wraps up with Yishai talking about his recent phone call with Israeli clarinetist Chilik Frank and his excitement to have his music used to encourage Jews worldwide.

A Culture of Complacency Segment #2

Yishai is joined in a busy Jerusalem café by his friend and colleague Rabbi Shimshon Nadel.   Together, they discuss the relationship of Purim today and how Jews celebrating in exile led to a situation that caused a sudden waking up and realization and desire to move home.  Specific Halachic laws regarding Purim falling on Friday night are also elaborated on.

The Purim Story, Today  Segments #3 and 4 

In the final two segments of this week’s show, Yishai presents a Purim class he gave the tought on the eve of Purim 5772 at HaKotel Yeshiva in Jerusalem.  The text of the Megilla is full of secrets about how to handle the dangers of Amalek. Follow the criminal mind and learn about the traits of Amalek, if you dare to fight him. The show wraps up with Benjamin Netanyahu’s strong speech from AIPAC 2012 in which he called for dealing firmly with the threat of Iran, and not waiting for other nations to deal with Israel’s foes for her.

Moshe Herman has been actively involved in Israel activism since founding the first pro-Israel student organization at Boise State University in 2007. He has been a member of several panels and discussion groups with topics ranging from interfaith dialogue in the Middle East to Israel’s importance as a Jewish state and holds dual US/Israeli citizenship. Following the horrific attacks of October 7th, 2023, Herman joined the Idaho Israel Alliance where he helps build and strengthen the connection to Israel across the State of Idaho. Moshe joined the production team of The Yishai Fleisher Israel Podcast at the beginning of 2012 and produces and promotes a podcast that goes out to thousands weekly. Herman holds an MBA from Strayer University and works full time in tech. He currently resides in Boise, Idaho with his wife and two children.
