And that is when it hit me – that was exactly it. The lack of meaning was what this was all about. Here I go through life, searching for deep meaning and strong connection, hoping to see the bigger picture with both those elements present the whole time. All I have to do is stop looking out for the huge billboard ads and pause to take look at the smaller street signs (in more ways than one). The small, non-events in my life can have huge meanings as well, if I just stop long enough to notice. Clearly, Hashem was trying to show me that He cares, even about the minor things. Even though He had come through for just a small thing, that doesn’t mean He cares any less for me because it wasn’t a huge to do. And that – that complete and total non-event in June, is now something so huge, that I can’t even begin to fathom the enormity of its message.
A Big To-Do Over Nothing
