Even though they appear so different in the details of their biographies: one a military man who turned to politics at the very end of his career, the other a politicians’ politician – in terms of their effect on the Zionist endeavor I view their contribution as identical.

Both have done so much to establish a thriving Jewish state in Eretz Israel, and both have invested themselves so deeply in an effort to squash it.
Both, in my view, also shared a tremendous capacity for cruelty.
