We can learn a lot from these Palestinian men, who are re-digging this smuggling tunnel, after the Egyptian army had brought in bulldozers that caved them all under.
One of the primary lessons of the founder of Chassidism, the Baal Shem Tov was to learn a lesson from everything you encounter in life. Here’s what he said we should learn from a thief:
He works quietly.
He is ready to put himself in danger to get what he wants.
He works fast.
If he is stopped once, he comes back the next night.
He is ready to drop all his gains and run off at an instant.
I have no doubt the Baal Shem Tov would have learned many spiritual lessons from these Arab tunnel diggers.
They work hard.
They take enormous risks.
They’re prepared to watch their work be ruined by an impervious force and then go right back and start it all over again.
