On Tuesday, this man was standing on the steps leading to the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron, playing his guitar and singing his heart out.
No one threw a Molotov cocktail at him.
No one let out a gunshot.
No one demonstrated.
No one even cursed or spat or made a face.
Photographer Nati Shohat walked by and got all of it, all of the above. He captured a single, solitary frame of the way things should be. A guy with a guitar should be able to stand and sing his heart out on the steps of the Cave of the Patriarchs unmolested.
You get those flashes of sanity a lot, you just need to recognize them and uncap your lenses.
