The Israelis around me are spreading the rumors about winter being the current season here. As someone who spent 37 winters in New York City, I fail to recognize this as fact. At most, what we’re having is a cool August.

The young woman walking along the shore at Mikhmoret beach, a few miles from Netanya, last Friday afternoon, was enjoying temps in the 70s. The day begins around 50 degrees and proceeds to a comfortable 60-70.
