A Haredi visitor at the Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum in Jerusalem.

Palestinian Authority terror chief and Holocaust denier Mahmoud Abbas’s attempted to cynically exploit the Holocaust today when he described the Shoah as “a reflection of the concept of ethnic discrimination and racism, which the Palestinians strongly reject and act against.”

In response, I nearly put up a picture of one of the lesser known and more gruesome photos from the 2000 Ramallah lynch, as an example of Palestinian Authority rejectionism, and their modern day Nazi-ism.

I decided against it, because Holocaust Memorial Day isn’t just about the modern day Nazis we face.

It’s about our own understanding and introspection, its about honoring our dead, and pledging to our own people, to never let it happen again.

Because unfortunately, with every missile launched at us from Gaza, with every Palestinian Authority suicide bomber, with every drive-by shooting, and with every anti-Semitic attack around the world that we allow to happen without response, we are displaying our failure to understand the lesson of the Holocaust.

This photo of learning and introspection at Yad Vashem is more appropriate, because that is what we need more of, until we finally reach a point where we will learn to say to the modern day Nazis, “no more” and then act on that conviction.
