1100 police officers entered the Arab neighborhood of Shuafat in Jerusalem.
The goal? To destroy the home of a terrorist that ran his car into a group of people standing near the Jerusalem light rail on November 5, 2015. After ramming them, the terrorist got out of his car and began attacking people with a metal bar. Two people were murdered and 10 were injured in his attack.
During the operation, police also uncovered an M-16, magazines and ammunition in the home.
The theory goes, the destruction of terrorist homes provides a measure of some much-needed deterrence, but in reality, seeing an army of 1100 policemen marching through your neighborhood is pretty strong message too.
