I’ve been searching the web for points of view for a discussion of the importance of having the office of a Chief Rabbi, and ran into former British PM Gordon Brown’s message to the new Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis. It was well spoken and heartfelt.

But then I noticed that the web is packed with similar messages from the former PM to many other people and things. I half expected him to send a message of hope to me and the rest of the tenants in my building, as the honorable former PM is greeting the planet in short, well edited segments.
