Remember too that, although there are other lawyers (both pro bono and fee-based) who say they can assist with these kinds of claims, it is Marks and Reppenhagen who have led every legal and political fight since 1997 to expand the rights of Holocaust Survivors regarding Ghetto pensions, such as: the passage ofthe original ZRBG law in 2002; the successful German Supreme Court decisions from June 2009 overturning the DRV’s restrictive handling of the Ghetto law so that more Survivors could collect these pensions; the subsequent inclusion of HungarianGhettoes in the ZRBG program; and the judicial and political battles between 2009 and 2014 against the DRV, culminating in this new law on re-assessments.
