Nine Israeli police officers were wounded and a 20-year-old Arab terrorist was killed Thursday evening in clashes that took place in the northern Jerusalem neighborhood of Shuafat.
Masked Arabs attempted to block Israeli security personnel from entering the neighborhood to search the home of the terrorist who stabbed a yeshiva student earlier in the day at a Light Rail station in the capital.
The rioting Arabs hurled firebombs and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) at the security forces.
Also Thursday, a 20-year-old Jewish man was stabbed by an Arab terrorist in the northern Israeli town of Afula. A few hours later, an IDF soldier was stabbed twice in the chest in another terror attack in the same town. According to Yossi Fahima, director of Magen David Adom emergency services in Afula, the victim was conscious when he was evacuated to a nearby medical center in serious condition.
The terrorist was captured and arrested within minutes of the attack. “The terrorist was not wounded, other than from blows he received from civilians, and [he] was rescued from the angry mob,” Fahima said.
