It’s not clear what caused the little boy to fall. The bus driver was held for questioning.

Medics from the Magen David Adom emergency medical response team said the boy was found with multi-systemic injuries, and without vital signs when they arrived. First responders had initiated treatment but due to the severity of the boy’s injuries, they were forced to pronounce his death at the scene.

The child, his parents and his family were visiting relatives in the community for the holiday, according to the Kikar Hashabbat news site. He was laid to rest in the cemetery in Givat Shaul, Jerusalem on Monday evening. The boy is survived by his parents and four sisters, Ynet reported.
