The Jerusalem District Prosecutor submitted an official indictment against five pro-settlement activists on Sunday, charging them with tracking and disrupting the movements of IDF forces on route to evacuating outposts, collecting classified military material, and coordinating the attack on the Ephraim Brigade base that took place on December 13, 2011.
According to the indictment, the activists had set up a network of approximately 30 sources who furnished information on intended troop movements and logistics. Some of the information they received allegedly came from IDF soldiers.
Further investigation has revealed that Likud MK Ze’ev Elkin provided information to the activists about which outposts would be evacuated by army forces. When questioned, Elkin said that he only attempted to prevent a confrontation and that he did not disclose details about IDF operations.
