Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas hasn’t managed to force himself to the table to complete final status talks with Israel – but he’s already promising to give away property in Jerusalem to an enemy of the State of Israel.
Lebanon’s Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil said in a tweet Thursday that he spoke with Abbas about “establishing an Embassy in Jerusalem, the capital of Palestine.”
Bassil added that Abbas “promised to act quickly to provide property for Lebanon in East Jerusalem,” according to a report published by Times of Israel.
Since Abbas owns no property in Jerusalem, and in fact has no right even to enter Jerusalem at present, that would be a stretch – almost as unlikely as the Ramallah-based leader being able to give away property in Gaza, another place impossible for him to enter without permission.
