Celebrated Harvard Law Professor (emeritus) Alan Dershowitz and former US Solicitor General and independent counsel Ken Starr have joined President Donald Trump’s impeachment defense team, it was announced Friday, along with Robert Ray, Starr’s successor at the Office of Independent Counsel during the Clinton administration.

White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham confirmed the additions in a statement Friday night, saying the three attorneys will join a legal team headed by White House counsel Pat Cipollone and outside attorney Jay Sekulow.

In addition, longtime personal counsel to the president, Jane Raskin, attorney Eric Herschmann, and former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi have also been asked to supplement the impeachment legal team, according to Grisham.

“President Trump has done nothing wrong and is confident that this team will defend him, the voters and our democracy from this baseless, illegitimate impeachment, the press secretary said in the statement.
