The director of Israel’s international Mossad intelligence agency, Yossi Cohen, said in a statement Wednesday that he, “along with all the Mossad personnel,” mourns the passing of the ninth President of the State of Israel, Shimon Peres.

Cohen said that for “many years” Peres worked with the Mossad on its “operations and work for the security of the State of Israel.” He said Peres was “one of the country’s most prominent leaders,” calling him a “symbol of peace and brotherhood.”
