An Arab who worked for a janitorial services company at Hadassah Ein Karem hospital was charged this week with 3 attempts of arson, according to a report on mynet and HaKol HaYehudi.
The man, a resident of Beit Safafa, tried on three different occasions last week to burn down the section of the hospital building where he worked.
The first time was in the family room at the surgery department, where he lit up a pile of papers, but when someone walked in on him, he extinguished them in a nearby sink, making it look like he was putting out the fire.
The second attempt was later that day in a handicapped bathroom. The fire he started didn’t spread, and the bathroom only suffered minor damage.
The next day, the arsonist tried again for a third time.
This time he attempted his arson in an empty recovery room, where he lit up some bed sheets on a bed, and then left the room.
A person visiting a patient saw the fire burning and put it out before the fire could spread.
The Arab arsonist was arrested by police at the beginning of this week, after Hadassah hospital’s security department identified him as the arsonist.
