At one point, Labor MK Shelley Yechimovitch, sitting next to Shaffir, can be seen laughing, and Shaffir joined in to appear quite amused by the rant.
Nationalists would live to yell at Shaffir and her cohorts like Zahalka, especially about their overdone and worn-out love for the word “peace,” by why do that when Zahalka can do the dirty work.
For example:
Those who took our land and who expelled us are not the ones who say ‘death to the Arabs.’ They are the ones who told us ‘We have brought peace upon you!’
Shame!
[You are] the engineers of racism and the engineers of expropriation, of expulsion. Shame on you.
This is the Left? I know what racism is. There is a way to be racist – there is also the arrogance of the Ashkenazim – rich and spoiled.
For the icing on the cake, he said that right-wingers were human beings when they are compared with the left, to wit:
The right wingers are much better than you. The Likud established settlements next to Arab villages. But Labor established its kibbutzim atop the ruins of Arab villages. Give us back our land.
The speech indeed was hilarious, but it also was filled with the bitter truth that leftists don’t accept. No matter how much “peace” is made, it never is enough.
A few leftists understood that after the expulsion of Jews from Gush Katif, followed by missiles on Tel Aviv.
The other leftists might understand that if, God forbid, all of Judea and Samaria and half of Jerusalem become part of a new Arab country under country and Syrian refuges flood northern Tel Aviv.
Then again, they might not understand because many of them would prefer to blame to “occupation.”
