Jerusalem Arabs were hurling rocks at Israeli vehicles traveling on the main arteries leading in and out the capital north and east of Jerusalem on Saturday night.
Rock attacks were reported in the area of Isawiyya in northern Jerusalem, where rioting was brought under control by Border Guard Police officers using riot dispersal measures.
Palestinian Authority Arab terrorists also hurled rocks at an Israeli bus just outside the tunnel between Jerusalem and the suburb of Ma’ale Adumim. None of the passengers on the bus were physically injured but the windshield of the bus was smashed.
IDF soldiers were deployed to the area to search for the terrorists.
Dozens of Arabs in other areas have also been blocking roads and hurling rocks and firebombs at IDF soldiers and Israel Police this weekend.
Security forces were already on high alert, however, and fully prepared to contend with any disturbances or possible attacks on civilians.
