Israel’s Interior Ministry has banned Raed Jarrar, an activist with the Boycott, Divest and Sanctions (BDS) campaign against Israel, from entering the Jewish State.
Jarrar is the advocacy director for the Middle East and North Africa division of Amnesty International USA.
According to a tweet he posted on the Twitter social networking site, Jarrar was denied entry due to “illegal immigration considerations” and “public security or public safety or public order considerations.”

Jarrar clarified the reason for the rejection by tweeting a call on Twitter for the American public to “Learn more about Amnesty’s campaign calling on states to ban Israeli settlement goods, and sign the petition here” barely an hour after posting Israel’s denial of entry.
