A leader of the Chassidic world, Rabbi Mordechai Hager zt’l, the Vizhnitzer Rebbe of Monsey, passed away Friday morning at Mount Sinai Medical Center with his children at his bedside.

The Rebbe zt’l, born in 1922, took up the mantle of leadership in Monsey after the death of his father, the “Imrei Chaim” (Rabbi Chaim Meir Hager of Bnei Brak). He is survived by eight sons and six daughters, as well as hundreds of grandchildren, and literally thousands of great-grandchildren.
