A suicide car bombing attack Wednesday exploded near a bus in which Revolutionary Guards fighters were traveling in the southern Iranian city of Zahdan.
According to a report by Israel’s Kan public broadcasting network, 30 IRGC fighters were killed in the attack, and 20 others were wounded.
The Jaysh al-Adel Sunni terrorist organization claimed responsibility for the attack. The group has carried out two other similar attacks in the past two weeks – one in which a Revolutionary Guards officer was killed and another in which eight IRGC officers were wounded.
The Sistan-Baluchistan region is populated by Sunni separatists who oppose the Shi’ite regime in Tehran.
