Three people have been injured after a car collided with a camel that was walking along Highway 1 near the Almog junction. The accident happened just before 9 PM on Thursday, according to a TPS report.

Police say that the driver, age 35, has been seriously injured with a head injury. His five-year-old son who was in the car was lightly injured.

The initial police investigation says that a local resident was riding his camel along the side of the road when the car hit them for reasons still unknown. The camel-rider was lightly injured.

All three have been evacuated for medical treatment.

The Almog junction is at the end of Highway 1 near the Dead Sea.
