Highway 5 checkpoint closed after bombs were found in a car. August 1, 2016

On Sunday night, a car was stopped at the checkpoint on Highway 5, the Cross Shomron Highway, and the guards found 6 pipe bombs in the vehicle, according to the police.

The driver was an Israeli-Arab from Rahat who was returning from a visit in the Shomron.

Police sappers dealt with the bombs and the highway was closed in both directions while they neutralized the explosives.
