Children run into a shelter during a Red Alert siren warning of incoming rockets fired from Gaza in the southern Israeli city of Ashkelon.

Code Red rocket alert sirens were triggered multiple times late Wednesday night in the Eshkol, Sha’ar HaNegev, Sdot Negev, and Ashekol Coastal Regional Council districts.

At least one rocket exploded in an open area, according to local sources, but the IDF has not confirmed the report.

Residents have exactly 15 seconds within which to reach a safe space before a rocket, missile or mortar shell reaches their area, possibly exploding in close proximity.
