Microsoft has allegedly purchased the cyber security firm Hexadite for $100 million, according to Calcalist.
The research and development center for Hexadite, which provides technology to automate responses to cyber attacks, is headquartered in Israel.
Investors in the company include venture capital firms YL Ventures, TenEleven and Hewlett Packard Ventures.
There was no comment from Hexadite or from Microsoft, Reuters reported Wednesday May 24.
Israel was largely unaffected during the recent worldwide global cyber attack that affected nearly 100 countries around the world, including major companies in the United States.
The National Cyber Defense Authority issued a series of directives at the time, including a cyber alert for Israel’s energy and water infrastructure systems, in response to the attack.
