Disgraced designer John Galliano has finally been replaced as creative director of French fashion house Christian Dior, more than a year after his racist and anti-Semitic drunk tirade in a Paris bar had been captured on video.
Galliano was arrested in February, 2011, and shortly thereafter lost his job.
He was charged with uttering “public insults based on origin, religious affiliation, race or ethnicity.”
He avoided jail but was fine last September.
This week, Belgian Raf Simons will be taking over from Galliano at Dior.
Simons told the press: “It is with the utmost respect for its tremendous history, its unparalleled knowledge and craftsmanship that I am joining the magnificent house of Dior.”
And, maybe, stick to drinking at home.
