After three years, Egypt has returned their Ambassador to Israel, absent ever since former Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood president Mohamed Morsi recalled the previous ambassador, Atef Salem.

Former Egyptian ambassador to Chile Hazem Khairat has been appointed by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to the post.
