European Council President Donald Tusk has canceled his planned visit to Israel this week in order to remain in Brussels to attend the Brexit talks.
The news was conveyed to Jerusalem via Israel’s European Union delegation, and announced via Twitter feed as well.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is slated to travel next week to Brussels to meet with leaders of the European Union. It’s the first such visit by an Israeli leader in 22 years.
The visit comes on the heels of major events taking place not only in Israel but also elsewhere in the region, where ousted Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh was killed Monday (Dec. 4) by Iranian-backed Houthi rebels near the capital, Sana’a.
