Arab rioters hurl objects at security personnel from inside the Al Aqsa mosque on the Temple Mount.

“Both Muslim worshippers and visitors from other faiths are expected to respect the status quo. Anyone who breaks the rules will be dealt with accordingly by the police, whether they are Muslim, Jewish or members of another faith,” the ministry states.

“Israel places the highest value on upholding freedom of religion and worship. Jewish holy sites (ie: the Western Wall), are open to visitors of all faiths, as are the Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.”

Since that is the case, visitors to the Temple Mount should be accorded the same privilege, and be assured of the same complete security regardless of religious faith or nationality, as well as be treated with the same respect.

At present, that has yet to be accomplished; even a female Knesset member was attacked by a female Muslim Arab worshiper yesterday morning (Monday, Nov. 3). But although the attacker was arrested and brought to a police precinct for questioning, police later ducked an inquiry by JewishPress.com as to whether she was released following questioning or had been detained pending appearance before a judge regarding the complaint filed by the victim of her attack.
